Knee problems

Well, it's been almost three months since my fall on the ice, and I'm still healing!  Yep, off work the past 5 weeks and just started back today....both knees somewhat sore, but I can walk better now and only start limping after I've been walking too much......arrrrgggggh.  Makes one grateful for one's health.  Too bad it takes a serious injury and recooperation to remind me of it.  (Even though I twisted the heck our of my right knee, the left one was so overused and jumped around on, that it got really swollen and painful, too).  But, I'm on the mend!!!!  Time to get back to some blogging, update my background from winter to spring/summer.....and get OFF of Pinterest for a minute or two!!!!  Talk about an addiciton!  Geesh!

Ouch!

Friday morning I slipped on the ice going out to the car to go to work.  It was dark, snowy and I wasn't able to get up onto my right leg as the knee seemed to just wobble out from under me!  YIKES!  I spent two days in bed babying the knee and then yesterday was up on crutches and out in the living room.  It's still sore, but not as bad.  Got a Dr's appt. tomorrow afternoon to see what the damage is and how to best heal!  Ugggggg.

Quick post!

So much is happening lately....I've been spending too much time reading blogs and pinning onto my Pinterest account, but I love it!!!

I've also been working on painting some wooden animals that will be part of the showcase at the Follinger Freimann Botanical Conservatory's spring exhibit.  It's geared towards children/families and it's called Down on the Farm.

I just love this picture....I found it on Pinterest.  Reminds me of a favorite childhood book, "Snowy" about a large white horse and a little girl!

Jolly contemplating the winter solstice with my stag candle.

Jolly meditating on Yule.  He's so deep.

My private homage to winter...evergreens, candle with stag and a tasty glass of Baily's Irish Cream.

Kristina and Alex making a free giftcard holder at Archiver's.

Brittany and Alex walking to the mall (Barnes & Noble, specifically) before Christmas. Alex also got a Build A Bear and some clothing for the Bear!  We had a great time.  New love???? Strawberry-banana Orange Julius!

One more Jolly/Solstice Altar pic.....looks like he's weaving some magic!!!!

Peter's grandaughter, Emma, opening a present for Christmas.

My beautiful children.  Taken the day Brittany and Kristina were leaving to go back to Des Moines.  We had a great time... and I mis them so much.

Artwork!

Back for a brief upday!  I was called today by the volunteer coordinator at the Botanical Conservatory.  She asked for my help for painting wooden Fisher Price-like animals for the next exhibit!  Of course, I said I would...yipee!  New Year with new opportunities.  The following pics are some I did for the McMillan Center for Health Education in hopes of being chosen to illustrate a book they're having published.  I haven't heard from them yet, but am hopeful!

Wow, how time flies!

Holy Moly...it's been over four months sice I posted and it's getting close to midnight now on January first!  Bear with me as I make this short....I've figured out (after much trial and error) how to make a music playlist for my blog and am still working on changing the fall-looking header, but I'm getting back on track!  Be back soon to update!
